Directions(6-10): Study the following table and answer the questions that follows:
The table shows no. of employees in 5 departments - A, B,C,D and E in a company, the percentage of females in each department and the ratio of no. of males who are unmarried to married.

6. Approximately what percentage of females in department B are less than that in department C ?
A. 8%
B. 10%
C. 12%
D. 7%
E. 15%
7. How many males in department D are unmarried ?
A. 242
B. 248
C. 243
D. 252
E. 240
8. What is the difference between total no. of females in department A and no. of males in department B who are unmarried ?
A. 46
B. 42
C. 32
D. 36
E. 38
9. What is the total no. of males in department D and E ?
A. 615
B. 625
C. 600
D. 605
E. 675
10. What is the ratio of no. of unmarried males in department C to no. of married males in department B ?
A. 19:27
B. 26:29
C. 15:27
D. 13:27
E. None of these
1. Length of the square = (484)^0.5 = 22cm
Perimeter of the square = 4*22 = 88cm
Thus, length of the wire = 88cm
Now in circular form,
Circumference of the circle = 88cm
2*22*r/7 = 88
Thus, r = 14cm
Area of the circle = (22/7)*(14)^2 = 616 sq.cm
2. Difference for 2 yrs = P*20*20/100*100 = 240
Solving, we get,
P = 6000
So SI for 2 yrs = 6000*20*2/100 = 2400
Amount at compounded half yearly = 6000 [1 + 10/100]^4
Solving,we get,
Amount at compounded half yearly = 8784.6
So CI at compounded half yearly = 8784.6 – 6000 = 2784.6
So difference = 2784.6 – 2400 = Rs 384.6
3. Let CP of 1 is x, then of 6 is 6x
so SP = (110/100)* 6x = 66x/10
CP of 4 = 4x so SP = (120/100)*4x = 48x/10
total SP = 66x/10 + 48x/10 = 114x/10 = 11.4x
and total CP = 6x + 4x = 10x
so profit = 11.4x – 10x = 1.4x
if all 10 items at 10% profit, SP = (110/100)*10x = 11x
and CP = 10x so profit = x
now given that, 1.4x = x + 80
solve, x = 200, CP of each is x = 200.
4. Required Prob. = (4c1 * 8c2)/12c3 = 28/55.
5. If number is 1 digit number, Number of ways= 5.
If number is 2 digit number, Number of ways=5×4=20
If 3 digit number, Number of ways= 5×4×3= 60
If 4 digit number, Number of ways=5×4×3×2=120
If 5 digit number, Number of ways=5×4×3×2×1=120.
By adding these we get the sum as 325.
6. Females in department B = (40/100)*290 = 116
In department C = (35/100)*360 = 126
Required % = (126-116)/126 * 100 = 8%
7. (3/5)*(75/100)*540 = 243
8. Females in A = (20/100)*450 = 90
Males in B who come by bus = (1/3) * (60/100)*290 = 58
Difference = 90-58 = 32.
9. D + E
(75/100)*540 + (80/100)*250 = 405+200 = 605.
10. Unmarried males in department C = (4/9) * (65/100)*360 = 104
Married Males in department B = (2/3) * (60/100)*290 = 116
104 : 116 = 26 : 29.
