Department of Panchayat and Rural Development (PNRD) invites online applications from eligible candidates who are citizens of India having registration in the Employment Exchange of the State of Assam for various posts. In this article, you will get all information about Exam pattern, eligibility criteria, selection procedure, etc.

Pay Scale:

Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 43 years
Crucial date for determining the age limit will be 1st January, 2018 
  • The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for ST/SC candidates.
  • In case of Ex-Serviceman, age limit is relaxable by two years. 
Educational Qualification:

  • The candidates must be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University except for the post of Gaon Panchayat Secretary, the Candidate must be Commerce Graduate.
  • Candidates must possess knowledge of Local Languages either Assamese/Bengali/Bodo in addition to English Language for maintenance of office administration. 

Note: The Candidate must be Indian Citizen, ordinarily resident of Assam.

Selection Procedure:

There will be a common written examination except for that the post of Gaon Panchayat Secretary.

Written Exam Pattern:

Note: The Commissioner, P&RD reserves the right to change the examination venues of the test and no representation etc. will be entertained in this regard. 
There will be only ONE merit list for each category i.e. Unreserved /SC/ ST(P) / ST(H)/OBC & MOBC, separately for male and female for the entire  State. There shall be no waiting list.
Application Fee:
  • For General Candidate – Rs.250/- (Rupees two hundred fifty) only.
  • For SC/ST/OBC - Rs.150/- (Rupees one hundred fifty) only.
  • Candidates having BPL Certificate – Nil

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared the result for online Assistant prelims examination. You can check your result here. The preliminary exam was held on 27th and 28th of November 2017. When will  the exam be conducted?
Staff Selection Commission will hold the examination from 4th March 2018 to 26th March 2018  in a computer based pattern.

What is the age criteria to apply in this Examination?
Different post have different age criteria. Candidates are required to make sure about their age and qualification before applying for the examination. Age-Relaxation Permissible beyond the Upper age limit.
Age Limit as on 1st August 2018 (18-27 years)

What will be the mode of applying the examination?
Candidate please note that only online applications will be accepted at http://ssconline.nic.in.

What would be the fee structure?
General Candidates: Rs 100/-
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen (eligible for reservation) are exempted from paying application fee as per extant Government Orders.

Mode of Examination : Examination will be held in a computer based pattern. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

This is a (DES)descriptive exam and is conducted offline. Candidates need to write Essay/Letter/Application/Precis. This is to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The best way to prepare for the same is to read lots of articles from various newspapers. Focus on the Intro. and conclusion of the Essay. Apart from this, you need to be well aware of the pattern of Letter and Application.

Important Points:
  • The time duration is 60 minutes and carries 100 marks.
  • The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffer from cerebral palsy.
SSC CHSL Tier-III Examination
Tier-III of the Examination would be the Skill Test/ Typing Test which would be of qualifying nature.
The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-I and Tier-II.
What will be the items that one has to carry along with Admit card?
Candidates should bring 3 passport size colour photographs. Candidates not carrying photographs may not be allowed to appear in the examination. In case the scanned photograph(s) appearing in the Commission’s copy of Admission Certificate and or on Attendance Sheet is not clear invigilators are required to verify the identity of the Candidate with reference to the photo ID Proof and get colour photographs pasted on the Commission’s copy of Admission Certificate and or on Attendance Sheet

What will be criteria of Selection?

Candidates will be shortlisted and recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their total marks in the Paper – I & II and preference for the posts.

SSC(Staff Selection Commission) has declared the Tier-I Result of CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Exam 2017. SSC CGL Tier-I Exam was held from 5th august to 23rd august 2017.

On the basis of CGL(Tier-I) Exam, 2017, number of candidates provisionally qualified for Tier-II and Tier-III are :-
Tier-II (Paper-I and II) and Tier-III : 1,50,404 (Total candidates)
Tier-II (Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III) and Tier-III : 10,311 (Only for post of JSO)
Tier-II (Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-IV) and Tier-III : 15,450 (Only for posts of AAO) 


The Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II & Tier-III) Examination, 2017 is tentatively scheduled to be held from 21.12.2017 to 24.12.2017.
