Sol. According to first condition, the number is greater than 3 but less than 8. Such numbers are 4, 5, 6, 7.

According to the second condition, the number is greater than 6 but less than 10. Such numbers are 7, 8, 9.

Clearly, the required number is the number satisfying both the above conditions i.e. 7.

Sol. The possible two-digit numbers are : 48, 45, 42, 41, 47, 46 , 84, 54, 24, 14, 74, 64

These are 12 in number.

S9. Ans.(c)

Sol. The digit 2 comes at the ten’s place in numbers from 220 to 229; 320 to 329; 420 to 429; 520 to 529; 620 to 629; 720 to 729; 820 to 829 and 920 to 929.

∴ Required number = 10 × 8 = 80.

S10. Ans.(c)

Sol. Number of girls who passed = (15 + 1 + 28) = 44.

∴ Total number of girls in the class = (44 + 6 + 5) = 55

S11. Ans.(c)

Sol. Let the number of boys be x

Then number of girls = 2x

∴ x + 2x = 60 or 3x = 60 or x = 20

So, number of boys = 20 and number of girls = 40

Number of students behind Sushant in rank = (60 – 17) = 43

Number of girls ahead of Sushant in rank = 9

Number of girls behind Sushant in rank = (40 – 9) = 31

∴ Number of boys behind Sushant in rank = (43 – 31) = 12.

Sol. Clearly, number of boys in the row = (6 + 10 + 8) = 24.

Sol.The change of place by Rehana can be shown as under.

Clearly, Rehana’s earlier position was 8^th from the left and 14^th from the right end.

Sol. Clearly, A’s new position is 15^th form the left. But this is the same as B’s earlier position which is 9th from the right.

So number of boys in a row = (15 + 8) = 23

S15. Ans.(c)

Sol.Gopal’s new position is 15th from the right as well as the left end of the row.

∴ Number of students in the queue = (14 + 1 + 14) = 29.
